We are the largest charity dedicated to kidney research in the UK. Kidney disease ruins and destroys lives. Treatments are gruelling, relentless. There is no cure. We say this isn't good enough. We will transform kidney health. Kidney disease ends here.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

So, after watching my sister, Gemma, complete three London Marathons and experiencing the amazing atmosphere, I have decided that it’s now my turn to take on the 26.2 miles! Whilst it being a massive personal challenge, I am very much looking forward to completing the route around London town. Just to add to the excitement, the marathon is on 13th April, my 26th birthday, so the beer and champagne will taste very sweet when I (fingers crossed) get over the finishing line!

The main reason that I am running the London Marathon is I’m hoping to raise as much money as possible for a fantastic charity, Kidney Research, which is very close to me and my family’s hearts. In April 2011, my much loved Dad passed away suddenly. Dad was on dialysis for three years, before having a successful kidney transplant in 1999. My family has therefore always been very supportive of Kidney Research’s amazing work, providing vital research into kidney disease and raising awareness of kidney health.

I would be extremely grateful if you could donate whatever you can to Kidney Research’s life saving work. I promise that I will be giving it my all to get round the marathon in the fastest and safest time possible! So, after writing this, it’s back to training :)

Thank you

Sam x
