Story
I became a St John’s Ambulance first aid volunteer in British Hong Kong when I was 20, and although I’m no longer on the front lines, the organisation hasn’t stopped saving lives — across the UK and beyond. This Christmas, I’m raising funds to support their vital service by reading 12 books in December. I would be truly grateful for your support!
Here’s my book list:
1) Andrew Gordon, A Modern History of Japan: From Tokugawa Times to the Present
2) Bruce cunnings:, Korea’s place in the Sun: A modern history
3) Robert JC Young, Post-colonialism: A very short introduction
4) Noberto Bobbio, Left and Right: The significance of a political distinction
5) Slavon Žižek, Too late to awaken
6) Tony Judt, A grand illusion? An essay on Europe
7) Timothy Synder, On tyranny
8) Henri J M Nouwen, Behold, the beauty of the Lord
9) Henri J M Nouwen, Creative ministry
10) Henri J M Nouwen, Finding my way home
11) Ludwig Wittgenstein remarks on colour
12) Hannah Arendt, Eichmann in Jerusalem: a report under a banality of evil
Thank you.
