Pensions4Paws is a small charity that was created to support the continued care of the amazing dogs that have worked in our communities. 

When one of these dogs retires all of the costs of care and ongoing treatment falls to the new owner, for many taking out a pet insurance is not an option due to the age of the dog.  This is where Pensions4Paws steps in and aims to provide the owners with the financial support they need to enable these dogs to get the very best treatment that they deserve, allowing them to have the retirement they deserve.

I have had the pleasure of being fur Mum to two crazy, energetic occasionally testing retired English Springer Spaniels.... RPD Molly and the late RPD Dylan!  Pensions4Paws have been invaluable in the care that both have received and if any of you reading this follow us on Twitter/insta you will know RPD Dylan had a few health problems in his last 18mths... prior to passing at a grand age of 16! 

Pensions4Paws is a small charity and I would like to help them to continue to be able to support the dogs that need them.  I have therefore entered the Southampton marathon, I have completed endurance events in the past, the last being an Ironman back in 2015, but I have done little endurance wise since and struggle with shin splints.  I work shifts as a member of the emergency services and will be training around these.

I have placed a target of £300 but seriously anything I can raise will be amazing, I know it’s a difficult time for everyone and I am truly grateful to all who support me.

Sadly RPD Molly is too old to train with me this time so I’m going alone, her drive is there but her  years are against her .... almost 15yrs!
