Story
18th May 2015 - a day that changed my life forever. I was 16 weeks pregnant with my eldest, Josh. At around 9.30pm, we had a call that shocked us to the core - my Dad was in cardiac arrest and paramedics were trying to save him. He was taken to hospital on blue lights and my sister and I flew down the motorway to be there. I cannot describe the feelings I had seeing doctors working on my Dad, willing and praying for him to come round. But he didn't. He didn't make it. He was 54, with a whole lifetime still to go. The days and months that followed were harder than I can ever put into words.
Even now, 8 years later, it pains me to look at photos of him. I miss him so much.
I have wanted to take part in the London Marathon for a very long time - I watch it every year and am always so inspired by the wonderful people taking part. And now that's me!!!
I am thrilled to be selected as a part of TEAM BHF - I will be raising funds and awareness for this fantastic charity and I hope I have your support!
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target.
