Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My friend Caroline and I came up with this idea when we were out on our regular walks.  We find walking helps our physical and mental health.  I was diagnosed with Parkinson's early onset in August 2019 and medication helps although I found the diagnosis tough.   I have a Voice for Anxiety page on Facebook and anxiety is a symptom of Parkinson's.  My neurologist and Parkinson's nurse are amazing and they always comment that I am walking unaided.  I hope this will continue for a good few years.  Eve, Caroline's dog, is 11 years old but we are hoping she will be able to do the 20 sections with an average of 9 miles.  Adam has worked out the rough route and will keep you updated with destinations and metrics.  We shall update this page with photos as we progress through the stages.   Last year my Auntie died she had been a great role model for how to cope with Parkinson's and we will be thinking of her.  We will also think of Caroline's mum who sadly passed with Parkinson's in 2014.
