Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon 2017 · 8 October 2017 ·

The Taylor Bennett Foundation (TBF) is a UK-based charity dedicated to increasing ethnic diversity in public relations and communications. Established in 2008 by executive search firm Taylor Bennett (now Taylor Birchwood), with support from Brunswick Group, the Foundation aims to empower Black, Asian, and minority ethnic talent to pursue and thrive in communications careers. Over the past fifteen years, we have helped over 1,200 young people to start their PR and communications careers through professional development programmes. We offer fully paid, award-winning training, mentoring, and internship programmes in partnership with leading industry agencies and FTSE 100 companies. Beyond career guidance, our education and leadership programmes support participants from entry-level to executive leadership.

Story

I'm running the half marathon in support of the Taylor Bennett Foundation, a traineeship that helped kick start my career in communications and showed me the possibilities of PR.

I had an unforgettable time in the short 10 weeks I spent with the Foundation, and I would love to provide others with the same opportunity.

By running the half marathon, I hope to raise funds (with an enormous target of £2,000), as well as awareness so the Foundation is able to continue the great work they're doing and open the door, like they did for me, to other awesome graduates.
