BUPA Great Birmingham Run 2011 · 23 October 2011 ·

The RBL are the UK's leading charity providing financial, social and emotional support to millions who have served and are currently serving in the British Armed Forces and their dependents.

Story

Most people who know me know that running isn't my strong point. However this year I decided to do something for charity, something I have never done before, and something that not everybody has done, or will do.

The Birmingham half marathon jumped out at me. Firstly, because it's the furthest I will probably ever run in my life, and secondly because it is actually on my 26th birthday. So instead of being down the pub, where I should be on my birthday, I will be puffing and panting my way around Birmingham.

In doing this I'm hoping to raise money for the Royal British Legion, who provide for serving and ex-service men and women. They lose a lot of support to Help for Heroes, but provide a lot to the people who need it the most.

However much you can spare would be greatly appreciated, be it 50p or £50.

Thank you.
