Ectopic pregnancy affects 1 in 80 pregnancies and is the leading cause of death in early pregnancy. We provide vital support and information for those affected, raise awareness among the public and healthcare professionals, and each year supply hospitals with leaflets.

Story

Next month I will be doing a 5k run fundraiser for The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust, I have chosen to do this as I recently had to have emergency surgery to remove my ectopic pregnancy which had ruptured in my left Fallopian tube, meaning I also lost my tube and my chance of getting pregnant again has dropped by almost half with a doubled risk of having an ectopic pregnancy again. The doctors thought I’d need a blood transfusion because there was quite a lot of blood in my abdomen from the rupture but luckily it wasn’t needed. I was kept in hospital for another day and monitored closely by the amazing staff on Eden Ward at Treliske Hospital, slowly my blood pressure raised and I was able to go home to start the mental and physical healing process. If they hadn’t picked up the rupture on a scan then I could’ve died, please donate to this amazing trust to help women get the support they need after going through such a heartbreaking experience
