Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As most of you may know, I lost my Grandma Sandra on the 11th May 2014. I was heartbroken as she was my best friend and my hero. She was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in February 2013 and a secondary brain tumour. She was incredibly brave and fought for over 14 months. My family and I are so proud of her and her positivity.
Her courage and her smile has inspired me to do something to help beat cancer sooner. I intend to raise money by training for an Olympic triathlon which is a 1,500m swim, 40km bike ride and 10km run. I will be completing the triathlon in one day and will be covering the distance by visiting some of Grandmas favourite places. The swim will be at West View Leisure centre where Grandma and I used to swim together, the bike ride will be to Blackpool where she loved to visit and the run will be around Preston where I grew up and spent many happy times with her. The triathlon will come to an end at her house where she lived with my Grandad.
Although this triathlon will be hard to complete, my Grandmas courage and bravery has inspired me to take on this personal challenge in the hope that people will support and sponsor me. I hope that one day nobody will lose a loved one to cancer.
Thank you for your support, It means everything.
This is for you Grandma, I'll make you proud, I love you now and forever.
