Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus pandemic the following event was cancelled. I still appreciate the donations as Macmillan fundraising is currently suspended for the foreseeable. I plan on reorganising the event later in the year.
As you probably know by now myself (Sam) and my family organise a fundraising event in memory of my Grandma Sandra every year to support Macmillan cancer support, because it's important no-one faces cancer alone.
My Grandma was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and secondary brain tumour in Feb 2013. After several rounds of treatment and 16 months of brave fighting she sadly passed away. But her memory will live forever, through us!
Over the past 5 year I have completed an Olympic triathlon, we held a memory walk, quiz night, fancy dress party and most recently I competed in a body building fitness competition. I was nominated for the Macmillan volunteer of the year for my innovative ideas for fundraising and promoting Macmillan in a positive light.
This year there will be a party in memory of Grandma Sandra in Preston, Lancashire. It will be on bank holiday Friday (VE day) 8th May, if you would like more details about the event email Sam swalkden04@gmail.com
Macmillan are so much more than just nurses, they provide support for individuals and their families throughout the process of diagnosis and treatment with financial help, emotional support and so much more. It is vital that we fund their support as they are mainly funded by donations and receive little government funding.
Thank you so much for supporting me and Macmillan, together we can ensure someone is right there with people facing cancer at their time of need! You're amazing!
