It is so easy to take the people in your life wether it be friends, loved ones and family for granted. Truth be told I've not lost any immediate family members but I have lost relatives young and old to aggresive forms of cancer, it's quiet devastating watching people you love deteriorate before your eye's fast. RIP Uncle Sherif Ahmad and Cousin Umeera Nazir.
My best friend Yazzi Bach has been battling cancer and has, thank goodness survived it numerous times through the chemo, surgery, tears, pain and the sickness that follows. She is an inspiration to me as my best friend and "big sister" still finds the time to laugh, smile and be positive about life. Yazzi you will always be a shooting star!! Love you big sis xxx
A family friend talked about how Macmillan helped and supported her mother during the final stages of her mother's life as cancer took hold of her. The level of support from Macmillan nurses was nothing short of amazing.
My personal trainer's story really tugged at my heart strings as he lost his father, Freddie Gurney to an aggresive form of cancer at a young age. The way in which my trainer, Dan Gurney speaks of his late father, It is clear to me he was deeply loved and cherished and what an amazing person, father and friend Freddie must have been to all those who knew him. He is deeply missed by his family and I dedicate my London to Brighton walk in memory of Freddie Gurney and to his family. Thank you Dan for being such a positive influence and for your time, paitence, professionalisim in helping me prepare for this epic walk. Tattoo on my trainers arm reads "Never Give Up". So very true.
