Story
Hello, I’m Samia.
I am taking the #StepUpChallenge!
I plan to climb Mount Etna in Italy during May. That is
3350 meters.
However, no holiday for me: Instead, I’m climbing the equivalent 21,725 stairs!
Portsmouth is flat city there are stairs on Southsea Seafront which I will be running/walking up and down. Again, and again, and again. Sponsors will get updates so stay tuned here, or follow me on socials (links at end)
Why am I doing this?
In 2019, more people died from antibiotic-resistant infections than from malaria or AIDS.
Yet most people are not aware of antibiotic resistance, how fast it is growing, or how serious it is.
Around a quarter of all infections seen in England are already resistant to at least one antibiotic, and this is rising.
Your donation will speed up research into treatments, and provide vital support to patients whose lives have been turned upside down.
Donations of any size are so appreciated and by coming together we can play our part in tackling this issue.
- £20 could cover the cost of taking a call from a patient needing support & advice
- £75 could deliver an awareness raising talk
- £150 could pay for 2,000 leaflets in a GP surgery explaining the issue and the free support we can give patients
- £500 could pay for a day of vital research to extend the life of our antibiotics
If you are a UK taxpayer, choose Gift Aid when prompted to boost your donation by 25% at no cost to yourself.
Thank you very much!
