Story
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my Just Giving Page. I am so excited to say that on Sunday October 3rd I will be taking part in the London Marathon 2021!!! I have a £3k target to hit for my chosen charity, a charity that is extremely close to my heart - Maggie's Merseyside.
I've worked as a fundraiser for Maggie's for the past 3 years and I feel so, so lucky to be apart of something so special. I can't even begin to explain how amazing Maggie's is - I have met the most amazing and inspirational people; people that are going through the worst turmoil of their lives but still continue to smile, spread joy and live their lives to the full.
I am trying to help raise awareness and raise funds for this magical place that helps so many people affected by cancer, whether it be emotionally, practically or socially, we are here for everyone. I have decided that I wanted to give something back and help ensure that the doors can remain open to the 17,000+ visitors we see each and every year.
I am running in memory of my friend, who even with stage four ovarian cancer, smiled every single day and made sure she never lost the joy of living in the fear of dying. I am running for the lady who wanted to marry the love of her life in her final few days and came with her family and friends to get married in our centre (a day that will stay with me until the day I die and a day that I feel blessed to have been involved with). I want to run for the family that lost their Mum and wife to cancer, just two short weeks after giving birth to their youngest child. I am running for the man that lost his wife and finds support in the centre to help deal with his grief and loneliness.
Every step I take on race day will be for every single person that has ever been affected by cancer, for all the people we have helped, for the families and friends of loved ones lost and every single person that has ever came through the doors of our centre. We offer a safe space, a haven away from experiences of pain and confusion and I couldn't be any prouder to say that I am apart of such an incredible cause.
All donations are welcome and make such a massive difference - every donation, no matter how big or small, plays a massive part in helping us help others.
I'd like to thank you so,so, so much for taking the time to read my story and thank you so much for all of your support. It really does mean so much, not only to me but to the hundreds of people we see each and every day.
Wish me luck as I’m going to need it 😊
