The medical terms for Sam's conditions are as follows:- cerebral palsy - spasticity quadriplegia,  agenesis corpus callosum, arachnoid cysts and epilepsy.

 The consequence of this being that Sam is totally reliant on assistance for all aspects of everyday life, he is wheelchair dependant but through hard work and perseverance he has managed to control his own power chair, providing him with a small amount of independent movement.

 His communication is extremely limited and he uses a combination of singular words and a communication app that he accesses via his iPad. These however are only the clinical words used to describe Sam's disability, they are not who Sam is. He has a personality big enough to fill a room, wakes every day with a smile on his face and is a simple  joy to be near. He loves to socialise, adores animals and dreams of being a vet one day. He also loves construction diggers & power tools etc....

Sam needs a new 'in house' seating system, so that he can sit comfortably and well supported in his own home and just chill out. The  Leckey comfy is £3500 but would be ideal for his needs. 

Sam also desperately needs a new power chair as his no longer fits his needs. 

We are pleased to say that  The National Children's Foundation was able to purchase the specialist sleep system at £1429.09 and a riser for his wheelchair at £500.00.
