We won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect, but we need your help too. Join the 2023 TCS London Marathon and help us to ensure that no one has to face a mental health problem alone.

Story

On the 23rd April 2023, I'll be running the London Marathon as part of a team of fundraisers working towards raising awareness, support and money for the mental health charity MIND.

Depression is considered a major contributor to suicide and is thought to be the second leading cause of disability worldwide. Perhaps less noticeably, it is estimated that 1 in 6 people experience a common mental health problem per week.

MIND supports people suffering with mental health problems by confidentially providing helpful information regarding identifying mental health issues and suggesting solutions such as therapy and counselling. The charity also provides tips on how to help other people, which is something I'd encourage everyone to read as it's a great opportunity to get in a position to help those around you who may be struggling!

Mental health is not hidden any more, it's something to be honest about - not ashamed of. The MIND community, as well as other charities supporting mental health awareness, has been at the heart of this transformation. Let's keep working together and contribute towards mental health progression!

Thank you so much for your support,

Sam
