Team North West Kent 3 Peak Challenge NatWest · 16 June 2018

We’re your local air ambulance charity. We hope you never need us, but every year thousands of people do. And if you do, we’ll be there to fight for your life.

Story

The NatWest North West Kent team will be taking part in the National 3 Peak Challenge.

This involves Climbing up the 3 Highest peaks in the UK - Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike & Snowdon within the projected timescale of 24 hours.

How the Challenge will Unfold?

We will start on the 15th June, where all 12 Participants will be collected from Swanley, Kent. Where we have now managed to book a 17 Seater MiniBus for hire, to transport us to Glen Nevis Campsite, at the foot of Ben Nevis, Scotland. We will recharge at Glen Nevis Campsite overnight into the 16th June 2018. At exactly 8am we will start to climb Ben Nevis, Scotland with the aim to complete the climb of all 3 fells finishing in Snowdonia, Wales before 8am on the 17th June 2018. This will include a night time Climb of Scafell Pike in order to complete all 3 fells in the challenged time. For the Majority of Team NatWest North West Kent, this will be our first time climbing a fell in any way, shape or form. Making our challenge all the more tougher.

Our Cause:

Team NatWest North West Kent have chosen to raise money for Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance as it is a charity that is close to a lot of our hearts. Kent Air Ambulance has saved a lot of lives over the years, as well as family members of participants or family members of colleagues within NatWest. They are a life saving charity providing Helicopter Emergency Medical Service to those living and travelling in Kent, Surrey & Sussex. Operating 24 hours a day to ensure they are always at hand for the most critically ill or injured people in the region. Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance have two aircraft in operation, one located at their Marden Base in daylight hours, and the other is Based in Redhill 24 hours a day. This gives the flight crew and medical crew the accessibility of being able to fly to anywhere in Kent, Surrey or Sussex within 20 minutes. As a charity, they rely mainly on fundraising & donations to be able to continue to operate and it is for this reason and the hard work they do everyday, that Team NatWest North West Kent are fundraising for Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance.
