Scottish 3 Peaks Challenge plus 5K a Day in May for CALM

5k a Day in May · 1 May 2025 to 31 May 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
I’m taking on the Scottish 3 Peaks Challenge over the first weekend of May as part of my 5k a day in May fundraiser for the suicide prevention charity Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM). The goal is to summit the 3 highest peaks in the UK: Ben Nevis (1345m), Ben Macdui (1309m) and Braeriach (1296m) across 3 consecutive days May 2nd-4th. As long as my legs still work I’ll then continue to walk a minimum of 5k a day for the remainder of May! I’ll be accompanied in the mountains by my trusty Spaniel and adventure partner Sirius.
CALM’s mission is a deeply personal one for me having lost my dad and sister to suicide in 2016 and 2018 and subsequently struggling with my own mental health in the years that followed. Their helpline offers vital support to people in crisis as well as those bereaved by suicide.
If you want to join me in supporting a good cause then any contributions however small are greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support.
You can follow my progress on instagram @sam.kesteven and I’ll keep this page updated.
See you in the mountains 🙏
“Last year we spent 2.7 million minutes having life-saving conversations. But we couldn't do it without supporters like you.
We’re the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) and we’re taking a stand against suicide. That means standing against feeling hopeless, standing up to stereotypes and standing together to show life is always worth living.
Every week 125 people in the UK take their own lives. CALM exists to change this - by offering life-saving services, provoking national conversation, and bringing people together to reject living miserably.”
