Asics Greater Manchester Marathon 2019 · 7 April 2019 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

I am no scientist or renowned doctor so the best I can do in trying to end this horrible disease is to raise money for those that can.

I have a personal experience with dementia as my Grandad had it before passing away in 2018 and I saw the effects it can have on the person as well as the surrounding family.

For those that know me, I am a massive Ipswich Town fan so have pledged to run the marathon in a Norwich shirt to help raise some more money.

Never ran a marathon before so this is quite a challenge for me but the crippling pain in my legs will be worth it and will probably still be more enjoyable than watching Ipswich this season.
