Fighting cancer is an all encompassing journey.  The medical and emotional intensity are hard to truly understand until you go through it or go through it alongside someone you love.  Along our journey, the shining light that has helped us persevere has been the Child Life Team at the Valerie Center.  Their singular focus is to make the children, all of whom are going through intense cancer treatment, have as much fun as possible from the moment they enter the Center.  It seemed a bit odd to us at first; the notion of children walking around playing games, while being connected to chemo infusions.  But we quickly came to realize that what the Child Life Team is doing is delivering an equally important form of treatment; the preservation of the child's spirit.  It is amazing to think that along the ~100 in clinic chemo treatments that Sanaya has had to this point, on many days, she was excited to go because she was going to be able to play with the Child Life Team; and visit the "treasure chest" to get a new gift.  Quite simply; we could not have made it to where we are in our journey without them.

 Our hope and prayer with this fundraiser is that we can help the Child Life Team continue to bless the children and families fighting this dreaded disease; and the more they are able to preserve the spirit of the children being treated, the better off those children and their families will be.
