Fighting cancer, Sandev's way!

Sandev was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma 2 1/2 years ago when he was only 17. Knowing very well that it is a non-curable cancer, Sandev never stopped to think for a minute that there would soon be a time when his body would give up the fight. Amongst all the ups and downs brought about by the barrage of treatments he had, he kept smiling and having fun when possible.

Sandev didn’t let his huge uphill struggle with cancer affect his dreams and plans he had for his life. He continued with his A-levels while having radiotherapy and chemotherapy sessions and two stem cell transplants and still managed to secure his place to study medicine at the University of Sheffield. Even though his cancer returned with a vengeance to take his life during the same week he was supposed to start university, he had the final laugh by donating his body to the national repository so that the medical community can continue to seek solutions to these beastly diseases.

Sandev fought with courage, accepted the challenges he faced and was never afraid to dream big.
