BUPA Great North Run 2013 · 15 September 2013 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the leading charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

At the age of just 51 my lovely Dad had a massive stroke, a fit and active man who had never lost a days work.

Without warning both his and my mams lives were changed forever.

Prior to that day I had no idea what a stroke was let alone the physical and emotional impact on both the victim and their family.

Thankfully my Dad survived and although disabled he is still very much with us, both he and my Mam have coped incredibly well.

Stroke affects people of all ages and states of health, the Stroke Association works tirelessly to research cause/prevention along with supporting the many victims.

I am appealing to my friends and family to support me on this run, I thank you now for your support xxx
