Story

Welcome and thank you for visiting our just giving page for SANDS Snowdon climb. We are a team of 4 medics; all of us having lost babies and brought together by an amazing support group for bereaved medic mothers. When the worst happens, and your world falls apart, you need support. We found that in each other; on an online community which became like a family. We are incredibly proud to be carrying the names of the babies of many of our fellow loss mums with us on our ascent.

Through our losses and work we have seen the impact SANDS has for bereaved families. From providing memory packs for families in the immediate aftermath of a loss to ongoing councelling they provide support in a variety of forms. They also train staff so they can optimise the care these families receive in the darkest of days.

We decided to raise funds by climbing Snowdon for SANDS after seeing the incredible work they do for pregnancy and infant loss. We are so very thankful you have taken the time to visit our page and appreciate every share and donation of any size.

Our team:

Annabel: Mum and GP. My beautiful Amelia died age 9months. Her beautiful smile, once seen, never to be forgotten. We are eternally grateful for our rainbow boys Benji and Felix.

Cat: Mum of 4 and Obs and Gynae trainee. We lost our oldest, Ezio, in 2016 to SIDS when he was 4 weeks old, then lost our first daughter, Arabella, in 2019 to pneumonia after a difficult pregnancy. Thankfully we have two precious rainbow babies Arno and Athena.

Jess: Mum and general/colorectal surgeon. Our first baby, Leo, was born after I went into premature labour spontaneously. We shared a few moments of precious life with him before he passed away in our arms. We hold tight to his memory and his little miracle sister who keeps us smiling.

Keta: GP and mum of 3. We sadly lost our little girl Alyssa after an antenatal diagnosis of spina bifida and brain abnormalities in 2017. We are grateful for her short time on earth and the impact she continues to have in our family. We are blessed with our oldest, William, and youngest, Isobel.
