In October 2019, our amazing nephew Elliot was diagnosed with Leukemia. He was 5 years old. In the last 20 months he has endured countless rounds of chemotherapy, lumbar punctures and general anaesthetics, but his courage throughout has been extraordinary.  My Sister Lynne & Brother-in-law Matt are amazing parents guiding him through his many treatments and his little sister, our niece Violet, does a wonderful job of keeping us all distracted.  They are an incredible family and I could not be prouder of them all.

As a family, we consider ourselves lucky as Elliot has access to world class treatment at the Great North Children's Hospital in Newcastle. Quite simply, we would not be here without them.

We have decided to take part in the Great North Run to raise money for the charity that directly supports the amazing facility that is the Great North Children's Hospital. 

Children's Cancer North is dedicated to making life better for children with cancer across the North East and Cumbria. Around 100 children from across the region are newly diagnosed with cancer every year and come to the Great North Children's Hospital in Newcastle for their treatment. Children's Cancer North aims to improve their quality of life through transforming the environment and play experience on the wards, providing access to potentially life saving clinical trials and funding revolutionary research to find more effective treatments.
