Great North Run 2023 · 10 September 2023 ·

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

Following the loss of our gorgeous best friend Grace, we have challenged ourselves to complete the Great North Run 2023. We are taking on this challenge in order to raise awareness and thank the charities that helped Grace through her cancer treatment.

Grace was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia on the 11th March 2022. She faced her treatment with positivity, bravery and always with a smile on her face. Grace sadly passed away in October 2022. She is greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her and we are doing this run in her memory.

In our team (Sandy's Squad) there are 14 of us taking part. Some of Grace's close friends: Grace Baldwin, Rimini Chapman, Sienna Chapman, Connie Deighton, Emma Harvey, Ruth Hodgson, Holly Morton, Lucy Robinson, Chloe Shepherd, Millie Wilbor and Becksy Wilkin. The remainder of the team are some of Grace's teachers: Mr Bunn, Mrs Donaldson and Mrs Scott.

Every person running has pledged to raise £345 each for Teenage Cancer Trust, but as we are running it as a team, we have decided to raise the money as a group. Teenage Cancer Trust is a charity that provides help, support and unique care to teenagers. We are very grateful for any donations and the money will go directly to the charity.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
