Story
Welcome
Finally I'm off........after a month or two of training and planning, Maria and I are setting off to walk The Pennine Way - a total of 260 miles over 12 months. The first part is 40 miles Edale to Hebden Bridge.

On 31st May we set off to climb 600m on a 7 hour walk of 16 miles to Crowden, day 2 less gruelling climb, a 11 mile hike to Standedge, then finally 2nd June 14 miles to Hebden Bridge.
I hope to raise enough money for a local counselling charity called The Olive Branch CCS Ltd. Set up by the churches in Winchester 20 years ago they offer long term low cost counselling to the local community. Over 40 volunteer counsellors give their time, providing around 60 sessions per week, thats over 470 per year. Our income is generated from client donations, local business and grants. All money raised goes directly back into running the agency.
The money you give will help to provide a screen to link up to our projector as well as up date our computer system in the office.
When I agreed to walk with Maria, I thought this would be a simple task, however heading out on my first 10 mile walk I realised how wrong I was!!!! Thank you to my kind and patient husband for helping me prepare for this by spending hours walking with me, realising about hydration and electrolytes, watching me try on endless boots and listen to the various aches and pains from the initial walks and getting heat exhaustion. Gently guiding me to understand about reading maps and sourcing an app to plot our route, and so much more.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any donations you make
