Santa Dash 2020

Virtual Santa Dash · 1 December 2020 ·
Members of #TeamCallon are continuing to fundraise for the hospice in memory of our son, brother, partner, Uncle and friend Leon Callon - we will take the St Catherine's Santa Dash across the pond, while others will complete the three-mile challenge closer to home in Lancashire and also the Isle of Man. We are travelling to California to spend Christmas with son Ben - Leon's younger brother - and wife Nikki, as well as grandchildren Jaxon Jude, aged 4, and Cruz Leon, aged 2.
We will complete the sponsored Christmas fun run in their St Catherine's Santa suits down to the beach in Santa Barbara on December 23rd. Having also recruited some of Nikki's family as well as friend and neighbours, there will be an incredible 16 of us running, jogging, cycling, scooting or walking in Leon's memory to raise vital funds for the hospice. Should be quite a sight!!
And we're even spreading the word of St Catherine's further afield in the US - with friends also completing the Santa Dash in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, and North Carolina.
Back across the Atlantic and Leon's older brother Ian and partner Maxine will be doing their own Santa Dash around Laxey in the Isle of Man, with children Kaspar, aged six, and Huey, aged four, also taking part. Even Leon's dog Elvis will be getting in the Santa Dash spirit to raise funds back home in Lancashire with Leon's partner Klara and their friend and work colleague Phil.
Please donate if you feel you can; at this very difficult time, St Catherine's needs our support more than ever to continue caring for patients and families just as they did for Leon.
St Catherine's provides palliative and end-of-life care and support for the people of Central Lancashire, through our specialised services at the hospice and in people’s own homes. We're here to help people facing life-shortening conditions like cancer, motor neurone disease and heart failure to enjoy the best possible quality of life to the end of life. It costs more than £5m to run our charity every single year. We rely on the amazing efforts and wonderful generosity of supporters like you to help us raise the funds we need. Thank you!
