Saoirse and Jessie would like to raise much needed funds  to support the wonderful NHS staff at The Whittington Hospital. They are challenging themselves to complete a distance of 1000km (between them) over a period of 9 weeks. The pressure, hardships and risk levels faced by NHS staff are as great now, if not greater, than during the first wave of the pandemic. They face this challenge burdened by the effects of an exceptionally demanding nine months. They have supported patients in their final moments, they have held iPads and said goodbye on behalf of families, they have lost friends and family. They are physically, emotionally and mentally drained. And now they face it all over again but they face it with inspiring levels of resilience, bravery, professionalism, and by always putting patient care front at the forefront. The vaccinations programme means there is light at the end of the tunnel, but before we get there, we need your support to help us protect our staff and our community.
