Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

If you don't know my story, both my boys, Alex and Ayden, were diagnosed with ALD (adrenoleukodystrophy) in 2001. Alex swiftly deteriorated into a state of complete dependency, blindness and inability to smile or talk within months. He was 7 at the time and fought long and hard to stay with us until 2012 when he passed away aged 19.

Due to Alex's diagnosis, his younger brother, Ayden, was diagnosed early enough to have a life saving bone marrow transplant. He is now 17, healthy and studying to go to University.

I set up ALD Life in 2004 and it's grown into so much more than we could ever have dreamed, supported by our wonderful staff and fellow Santa runners!

So please, sponsor me to do this daft, daft thing and make Alex very happy and proud.
