Story

Those who are close to me know the importance of a cause like the Alzheimer's Society. Alzheimer's disease is a progressive loss of cognitive ability in the human brain. It's not only a painful disease for the ones who are diagnosed with it, but also for their loved ones. I have seen first hand how Alzheimer's takes away a persons identity and independence and it is a bittersweet feeling holding onto those memories of who they once were.

That's why I am raising money for the Alzheimer's Society by taking part in a 13 mile hike at the beautiful Lake District on the 8th August 2021. I will be trekking along the breathtaking Ullswater lake, the second largest lake in England after Windermere. This charity is so very close to me as I have been able to access so much information and many tips on how to care for someone with the disease.

I cannot believe that there isn't a cure for this yet, but with your help and fundraising efforts, maybe in the future less people and less loved ones will suffer at the hands of this painful disease.

Please support me in this hike by donating whatever you can and also by sharing with family and friends. Thank you!

Love Sara x
