MASKS / KILIMANJARO TREK

YES WE MADE IT!
Forget 40! Life definitely begins at 5895m!
On Friday 27th October, after 5 days trekking and acclimatising, we both made it to Uhuru Peak, the very top of Kilimanjaro and the highest point in Africa.
The air is very thin at that altitude so the going was very tough. It was only the thought of all you generous sponsors and sheer determination that kept us going when we literally felt we had nothing left. For the final ascent we had left at midnight by the light of our head torches, reaching the top of the volcano's crater by sunrise and the actual summit, in temperatures of around -20°C by 7.30am.
We are now well on the way to reaching our £3000 target to buy specialist, interactive IT equipment for MASKS and the children of Park School. If you have yet to sponsor us, we hope we have now proven that we are 'man enough' so please dig into your pockets and help with our final push.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: MAKE A SPECIAL KID SMILE (MASKS) will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Thank you very much for your amazing support! - More photos to follow shortly.
