The 2.6 Challenge is a simple and fun way for everyone to do their bit to help save the UKs charities.

Story

I am challenging myself to run 26.2 miles in a week to stay both physically and mentally fit.   These are difficult times for everyone and getting out and about while adhering to social distancing and lockdown guidelines is important for our health.

I aim to complete my challenge by Sunday 26th April when the London marathon would have been taking place.  So far this week I have clocked up 24.3 miles so should be able to smash my goal by Sunday.   Oscar (my 10 year old son)  has joined me on a few runs and he hopes to have completed a half marathon by Sunday.  He’s already up to 9.6 miles so again should smash it by then.

Save the UK's CharitiesGeneral fundraising has been hit very hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled and many charities, particularly smaller ones, are struggling to maintain services because of this huge reduction in income. This impacts all sectors of society from children to the elderly as well as the vital work in areas such as palliative care, serious diseases, mental health, housing support, food supplies and countless others that charities support.
