My daughter Isobel set me a challenge. She bet me, her 41 year old mum, that I couldn't complete a triathlon. So I thought I'd prove her wrong. On Sunday 6th July I will take part in the first Triathlon Pink in Leeds to raise funds for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. It's a charity that's close to the heart of my family and one that we try to support each year.

To earn your support and hopefully your cash, I will be swimming, cycling and then running my way around Leeds, supported and spurred on by my much fitter 10 year old daughter.

I think when you ask people to sponsor you for an event, you should be pushing yourself and believe me I am. I hope you'll dig deep and make it worth it.
