Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have wanted to be part of the London Marathon since moving to London in 1985 and being moved by the sheer scale of endeavour on show by so many ordinary people each year on one day in April. Scarily, last year I got a place...eep! I wasn't prepared for them to say YES and so this may well be a 'lollop' rather than a run.....
Lets face it though, this is a marvellous opportunity to raise money for a cause close to my heart. I am a painter of really large, really bright paintings...with slightly dodgy sight (myopia, an extreme detached retina and familial glaucoma...) and so I am making the most of it whilst I can.
Charities that help the blind are marvellous but 8 out of 10 cases of blindness COULD be prevented with further research. For over 45 years, "Fight for Sight" has been funding world-class research into the prevention and treatment of blindness and eye disease. So, I am asking for help to raise money to help people to RETAIN their sight.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Between 1st February 2011 and the marathon on 17th April, I will also donate 10% of new sales on my paintings to Fight For Sight. If you like what I paint (see www.sarahcaswell.co.uk or www.facebook.com/SarahCaswellPaintings) then all sales will help to raise money for this excellent cause.
Thank you
Sarah
P.S. Pass it on...!!!
