In less than one week, I will take to the tropical waters of Lake Windermere to swim a mile for The Christie. I am a fair weather swimmer and have never swum in open water before (apart from a school trip where, instead of gorge walking, I swam down the hill instead!).

I wanted to support The Christie as it is a local charity providing an invaluable service. I am £100 away from my target.
