Well im sure alot of you are saying fibro.... what? Well the medical answer would be it is a chronic condition of widespread pain and profound fatigue. The truth is its so much more than that with well over 60 plus symptoms its life changing, dibilitating and a pain in the..... well everywhere lol. No day is the same and what you can do one day doesnt mean you can do it again the next but doesnt mean you wont do it again, complicated right?
After suffering from this condition for 2 1/2 years but only just being dioganosed i felt that i needed to do somthing positive and the main things i have found is awareness is so important to all including medical professionals. i was lucky to have a good doctor but i know people who struggle to get a diognosis as there is no simple test to have done. People, including myself think there r going mad and feel like they are falling apart with no explanation of why they feel like they do. Then trying to explain to people what is wrong with you is very hard especially when the fibro fog sets in lol. Also with no cure and no real answers to why its certainly feels like a life sentance.
Anyway when finding this charity and see what fantastic work they do i felt that i could do something positive. i looked into what they do and the money goes to provide information packs to patients and medical professionals, running the helplines, supporting local support groups, lobbying MPs and other decision makers, attending medical conferences to distribute information to professionals, supporting researchers with information, presentations and providing participants. I think you will agree they do fantastic work. I decided i would like to do some fundraising to help them
2 of my fantastic sons came to me and asked if they could help aswell as in their own words, noone should suffer in silence, so this is where we are, they have decided they would like to do a sponsored walk on the 11th May, the day before fibromyalgia awareness day. They will be walking from Chaddlewood coop all the way to Sainsburys Marsh Mills and back home again, we have not done the exact milage but we think it must be at least 7 miles. They will be doing it in fancy dress aswel just to add a little fun to it. Their aim is to collect sponsors for this charity and raise awareness.
We would really appreciate any sponsors at all. Thanks for taking the time to read this x
