The Prince's Trust - Borneo Summit to Sea Challenge · 17 October 2009 ·

The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hey everyone!

Well I did it, i trekked, climbed, cycled and rafted my way across 175km!!!!!

It was second to none the toughest thing i have ever ever done. I lost a stone in the week we were away and i ate like a horse!

Thank you again for logging on and donating and if you don't already have a ticket for the Masquerade ball on the 14th of this month drop me an email, there are still a few left!

We must do this again sometime, thanks again

Sarah

I haven't updated you all for ages, sorry! I have been busy training and fundraising!

My last training trip to the peak district was eventful and a little damp but very definately worth doing! The training had a profound effect on my motivation which had been waning just a little with the 5am starts taking their toll!

The cake sales have been going very well on a Friday and have become very popular with the office staff. My biggest undertaking yet has to be my grand fundraising plan of a Venetian Masquerade Ball which is proving a mamouth task to organise but with the help of some wonderful people, all giving up masses of their precious time, things are coming together. As you'd hope given it is scheduled to take place in a little over 2 weeks on the 10th October!!!

This should raise the remainder of my sponsorship target with any luck!

Thanks to all of you who are supporting me and i will post some more photo's after i meet my team mates this weekend on a training session in the Brecon Beacons!

I have just found my vocation in life!!! I am going to give up my Sales Support role and become a tea lady! Thank you all at G's who had their afternoon beverages and a homemade piece of cake at their desk and helped to raise £93.00 this afternoon!

My training this morning went very well though i can barely remember it now it was so early! Seth, Teasel and I are off to the Peak District to find some hills this weekend so i'll report back on Monday! Enjoy your Bank Holiday!

17/08/09

On holiday from work trying to implement some fundraising ideas and undertake some alternative training!!! I'm trying to talk my sister into joining me Canoeing later.

Training is coming on ok but has been pretty tough. Really pleased with my improvement though. Took on a 4 mile run the other day which had beaten me when i first started training. This time i ran all the way and finished in pretty good shape. It has just spurred me on to do more!

You can see from my progress the fund raising is going rather slowly after an early push. I have sent out some press releases and hope this will bring about some more donations and ask all who log on to give generously! I am also going to be arranging a masquerade ball, all details to follow!

Thanks again for all your help!

Thank you to everyone who has answered my panicked calls with my first fundraising deadline coming up on Friday! I am flabagasted by your generosity! Please please please pass this page address to you friends and relatives who i won't have an email or mobile number for. Every single donation helps!

Last year, of all the people the Prince's Trust supported, 78% moved into employment, education or training. That accounts for approximately 31,200 young people back on the road to success! Your donations will help this good work continue into the future.

Its a swimming session for me tonight or possible on of the intensive running programmes if i finish work to late. Teasel (my dog) can't quite get used to me doing circuits and thinks i'm playing when i'm doing press up's which makes the job even harder work! I've lost the best part of half a stone already!

Thanks again everyone! (Even those of your anonomous donors... I know who you are!)

Oh Crikey!

I have just logged onto the page after a reminder email from the Princes trust that my first installment of £2,450 is due this Friday to find donations from the most unexpected people. All i can say is THANK YOU! I am getting a little misty just now thinking about it. It makes my gruelling first cycle into and back from work yesterday worthwhile!

This is such a fabulous cause please pass this website address to others. You never know who may donate as i have just found out now.

Thank you all again!

Hi All

In the true sense of my insanity I have decided it would be a good idea to climb a mountain in Borneo and then work my way back down all the way to the coast to raise money for the Princes Trust. For those of you who are not familiar with this charity they work to offer those young people who are having a tough time of life either with their education or perhaps coming out of the care system, a real direction in life and try to guide them to their full potential. They literally change lives. Please use this link to see more about the great work they are involved in http://www.princes-trust.org.uk/about_the_trust/celebrate_success/east_of_england_2008.aspx

In this time of economic hardship the calls to the Princes trust helpline have gone up by 50% since October 2008. All I am asking from you, is to take 5 mins in the comfort of your office or home, to pledge what you can afford towards my target. I have 3 months of gruelling training every day before work, 3 months of fund raising, desparately finding time to make this challenge happen in the chaos of my day to day life and some very nasty jabs!!! I believe this cause is worth every minute and all the effort.

I had the most amazing chances offered to me when I was younger, many I took for granted, which now give me the opportunity to have a wonderful and colourful life and a life with a direction I choose. I want to help this fabulous charity, who's work for many of the young people they help, will make a difference to them long after the Princes Trust is a story from a chapter in their past.

Please help me to make my small contribution to some happier endings, take the time and give generously.
