Story
For those of you that know Poppy you will understand I was amazed when she said she said 'Mummy I want to run a Marathon for Ukraine'. This is the girl that admitted at the age of 4 she really doesn't like doing anything that makes her 'out of puff' very much and now at 8 she is not the most athletic of children. My initial response was 'don't be silly darling you can't run a marathon its way too far for an 8yr old'. Then as she looked so disappointed I back tracked and said 'well if you really want to I suppose you could run a mile everyday for 26days if you like - then in theory you have run a marathon for Ukraine'. She thought about this for a second and then agreed 'yes if you think I can't do it all in one go I'll do this'.
Well day 1 arrived and Poppy took herself out to the back garden and proceeded to run around it I don't know how many times until her Strava app told her she'd completed a mile. She didn't stop and was SO proud of herself for completing this - as were we as we genuinely didn't think she'd run the whole thing and on her own on the very first day!
So every day since we have taken it in turn to run various routes around the village to support Poppy and her cause.
Anything you could give in support of this cause would be appreciated and spur Poppy on to completing her marathon for Ukraine!
