Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  I am taking up the challenge to ride in the Best Western Hotels Macmillan Ride of Their Lives Charity Race at York Races on Saturday 16th June.  Some of you will know that my last and only attempt at race riding didn't go so well when falling off in a charity race at Cheltenham......therefore I am hoping to make this effort more successful! 

This is not going to be easy.  Although I ride on a regular basis my fitness will need to improve dramatically in order to pass the jockey's fitness test that we need to pass to ride in the race.  This is going to mean a lot of hard work but raising money for Macmillan will be worth it.  Almost everyone has been affected by cancer at some point in their lives, be it themselves, friends or family and this charity do amazing work to make dealing with this terrible disease easier.

My aim is to raise £10,000 but just to give you an idea £3,000 will fund a Macmillan nurse to support a family affected by cancer for 14 days.
