Story
When my mum sadly passed away following a stroke, I said that I would like to raise money for The Stroke Association, who I feel are a very supportive organisation that carry out some fantastic work.
In order to hope that people would sponsor me, my thoughts were, that whatever I choose to do, should be a challenge not a pleasure! I had watched the Great North Run on TV and thought that would be a great way of raising money.
For those of you that know me, will be aware of how much I dislike running!! I’ve always said that I will run while playing a sport, to run after a ball etc. In fact during my football playing years, a friend of mine would frequently tell people “Sarah doesn’t run, I do all her running for her!” Unfortunately for me, on this occasion, she has not volunteered to run this one for me!!! So you will understand my mixed feelings when I received an email to “congratulate” me that my application into the ballot had been successful! So I will be attempting the 13.1 miles in September , without the aid of a safety net, and I would be extremely grateful for any donations that you are able to give. This charity is particularly close to my heart.
