Southmead Hospital Charity is the official charity of North Bristol NHS Trust. Together with our donors and fundraisers we deliver world-class projects and comforting items over and above what the NHS funds, to make the biggest difference to patients and their families.

Story

So, I think I may have had a small lapse of madness but at some point back in October '2017, I said yes to climbing up a rather large hill, also known as Everest.

This April, me and some friends are taking on the challenge of Everest Base Camp and after a heavy chocolate and wine filled christmas, this is going to be a big challenge for all 5 ft 2 of me.

The trip is entirely funded by myself but, as its going to be a pretty hefty challenge, I thought I could use this opportunity to raise some money and awareness for the department I work in and the fantastic team who run the ship.

24 hours a day, every day of the year, Southmead Hospital’s Emergency Department and major trauma centre treat people who have serious and life-threatening injuries and conditions. The doors never close, and our team work tirelessly to save lives on a daily basis.

All donations (pennies or pounds) will be hugely appreciated and will go directly to the Emergency Department at Southmead Hospital

It will go towards helping us to buy medical equipment, dementia aids, child/adolescent toys for the waiting room, and...If we are lucky, maybe some drip stands (speak to any nurse and they will tell you how much time they spend looking for a drip stand!)

Thanks again for all your support!

Lots of hugs

Sarah H
