Nicola my good friend and an awesome Patisserie Chef asked me to join her on a 26 mile Jurassic Coast Hike from Weymouth to Wareham on 15 June to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Care.

I lost my dear mum to cancer in 2001, we were very close, it broke my heart.  I will never forget mum’s humility, humour and kindness.  I’m sad she didn’t get to see my brother marry the lovely Alia or meet their children Dylan and Lewis.   Mum was an incredible friend to me and loved hanging out as one of girl gang.  So much so, mum had her own friendships with my mates too!  Mum loved to travel and enjoyed visiting India, Morocco, Turkey and Greece – she spoke to absolutely everyone, it didn’t matter who you were or where you came from! 

Macmillan Cancer Care helped mum, my family and friends get through an incredibly difficult time. 

With so many of my closest and gorgeous friends and family touched by cancer, this is an awesome opportunity to do something positive.  And I get to spend the day with my pal too.  I'm slightly nervous our pre and post hike accommodation is in a pub.... it's going to make for an interesting journey!
