Raising money for the Alzheimer's Society in loving memory of my dear nan, 'Martha'.  Martha lived in Camden in the council flats along  Albany Street opposite Regents Park (the Trek26 Route goes past where she used to live).  I loved staying there.. falling asleep under the light from the Post Office Tower, known as the BT Tower today.  Martha made the most incredible sausage sarnies cooked with lard, on white bread and smothered in HP sauce.  Whilst growing up.. she sold flowers at Covent Garden market.   She was incredible fun and got on with all different people and children from all walks of life.  During the advance stages of her Alzheimer's I remember sitting on her bed singing, 'knees up mother brown' on repeat for literally hours on end.  I'm also raising money for everyone affected by dementia today  -  my good friend Nicola's mum 'Deana' (above photo) and everyone else with a loved one that is or has suffered. This is for you all.  I'll be honest... my training went off the rails (at mile 15) a few weeks ago, due to circumstances beyond my control.  My goal for  Saturday is to get as far as I can on the day, whilst raising awareness and funding for this incredible cause.  I'll have my camera and will be wearing a smile once I've got over the shock of getting up at 04.45 am for an early start south of the river.  A great big thank YOU for taking the time to read my story and for sharing your incredible support.  YOU Rock.
