I am very excited and a little bit scared to have been successful in my application to run the London Marathon 2919.

Having participated in this event twice, many moons ago, children and work commitments prompted me to ‘hang up’ my running shoes.

Since 2016 it has been my goal to run again. With that in mind, I dusted off my trainers and made it my mission to run a marathon.  I started out running on my own, slowly building up my fitness levels. I now run regularly with the Sedgemoor Struders Running Club and partake in local park runs.  My first big challenge was the Bridgwater Half Marathon in September 2018.

I now feel I have the confidence and fitness and am ready for the challenge !  This is where you come in !  I am running for the National Federation of Demolition Contractors and have pledged to raise £2000 for their chosen charity The Starlight Children’s Foundation.

This is a fantastic charity whose aim is to brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families, helping them to smile again.  They make the children’s time in hospital easier by providing positive, entertaining and comforting experiences, they give the whole family something to look forward to, to share and remember by providing once in a lifetime wishes, which they wouldn’t be able to do without our support.
