I am a kinship carer to my Grandson aged 12. I know how difficult it is and how children  in kinship carer often have many challenges and worries.

 On 26th January 2023 BBC Look North reported that there are approximately 19000 children living in Kinship Care across West Yorkshire and the Humber - more than double the amount of children in social services care.

Our children are not supported as much as children in social services care, financially or emotionally. Kinship charity is a valuable essential support to families like mine. 

Throughout March I will walk 589000 steps, which is the equivalent of 19000steps per day. one for every children growing up in Kinship  care.
