Being a full time working mum of two beautiful children is hard work. I am fortunate enough that my babies have safe and fun surroundings while I work.  Every mother should have access to facilities that ensure her babies are safe, learning new skills and having fun while she has to earn money for the family.  Help me in my journey to train and succeed in competing in a 70.3 Ironman (1.2 Miles Swim + 56 Mile Bike + 13.1 Mile Run) in order to raise money to support this amazing charity in Peru.

First Steps 2 School Peru is a small registered charity working with children in the Peruvian rainforest. It recognises the inequality in the provision of care especially in education for the very  poorest communities of that country. The shanty towns situated on the outskirts of the major city of Iquitos are chaotic. There are no proper roads, there is a lack of sanitation, electricity and health care, and families are exposed to many dangers such as the use of open fires to cook on. Most people in these areas are illiterate and women are easily
drawn into prostitution. They live from day to day and it is very much a hand to mouth existence.

The charity offers these people hope for the future. By providing registered nursery care for children up to age 6 they can then attend
school, where it has been proven they excel compared to their peers.
Most of all, their First Steps to education gives them the means to take the road out of poverty.
