Saint Francis Hospice is a leading provider of palliative care for people living in Havering, Brentwood, Redbridge, Barking & Dagenham. We care for people from 18 years of age, of any race or religion, who have a life limiting illness due to cancer, heart disease, motor neurone disease or respiratory disease and we provide physical, spiritual and emotional care and support to patients and their families.

Story

Friday 22nd October, and our skydive is complete, and what an amazing experience it was.   We will still be encouraging sponsors for the next few weeks, so please if you can donate any amount it all goes such a long way.

I have attached some pictures of our dive, and more will be put on shortly.  Thank you to everybody who has supported us and donated, we will update everyone with a grand total.

North London Sky Diving Centre

We will be taking part in a tandem skydive to help raise money for Saint Francis Hospice, Havering Atte Bower.

My name is Sarah-Jane I am 28 years old, married to Nick and have a 4 year old son called Jake.

I am Marie Ellmore, 43 years old, married to Dave with 2 grown up children, Martin and Laura, who all think I am slighty mad.

We are both Deputy Registrars at Langtons House, everyday we meet families who have experienced the help and support that Saint Francis Hospice give first hand. They have all gone through unimaginable grief and pain, but one thing they always say is that the hospice’s support through this time is invaluable to helping not only the individual staying at the hospice but also the families.

My husband Nick has personally experienced the tremendous work that Hospice’s do, and the support they offer, they make an extremely difficult time slightly more bearable.

ON 13TH OCTOBER 2010 WE WILL BE DOING A SKYDIVE TO HELP RAISE THE £6.5 MILLION POUNDS NEEDED YEARLY

Saint Francis Hospice provides care completely free of charge to anyone in the catchment area of nearly one million people diagnosed with a life limiting illness.

The services include Day hospice where 17 patients a day attend transported by volunteer drivers, 22 bed in patient unit, Hospice at home nursing,

bereavement counselling, specialist bereavement counselling for children and triage.

Every year nurses make over 5,000 visits a year to patients in their own homes
