Story
Hello everyone. Hope you're all well. You may have noticed I've been slightly more quiet than usual on Twitter and other platforms including emails etc
The past few months have been pretty hard. I went to Paris for My 30th birthday and the day I landed home I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. A few days later I was asked to go in and Immediately I was overwhelmed with the amount of care I was given. Everyone was fantastic including the consultants and other members of staff.
Every appointment I had I have always chatted with a Macmillan nurse afterwards incase I had missed out a question that I had to ask surgeon. All the nurses were extremely informative ranging from fertility, the procedure itself, how it can affect you moving forwards. They offer counselling and a ton of other things which Is too long to write down.
My Macmillan nurse called me around every second day just to make sure I was okay and if I wanted to talk. Sometimes I did, sometimes I didn't but the offer was their which was great. They are always at the end of a phone and if you really need to see someone they will go out of their way to make that happen.
I honestly don't know what patients would do without this team of nurses. We need to keep donating and I'm going to try and raise as much money as possible. Please help me raise!
I am now safely tucked in my bed after my surgery and will be taking it very easy in the following weeks to come.
Click the Donate button, make me smile and keep those saddened faces happy. Help provide the tools they might need so a great level of care is maintained.
Forever greatful x
Sarah
