Story
I've wondered many times but just can't imagine, being homeless on 23rd March 2020 when lockdown was announced at the start of the pandemic..
Fast forward to November 2022. Economy crashed, energy costs through the roof & the UK inflation at 10%......whether you are already without somewhere to call 'home', have a mortgage, or rent a place it's looking like a this winter will be tough for many people.
I'm hoping to raise awareness & some money for #crisis over the next few weeks with a fundraising event on 25-27th November. - 24 hours Awake then a sleep-out overnight (it's November & potentially quite cold, - just saying!)
Over 200,000 households in England are experiencing the worst forms of homelessness including sleeping on our streets, drifting from sofa to sofa or stuck in unsuitable temporary accommodation like B&Bs far away from their support networks. That means that on any given night one in 185 people are without a home.
So I will shamelessly ask, politely request, beg, plead & cajole everyone I know to help raise funds for Crisis; I know it's a big ask right now, but it could be someone we know who needs a helping hand in the future couldn't it?
