We are Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. We stop at nothing to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. Because we believe no childhood should be lost to illness.

Pete and I have been training hard for our events but its times like these we both wished we had opted for the sponsored silence, leg shave (me not Pete) or even sitting in a bath tub full of beans!

For myself I have been clocking up the miles, including running home from work, enduring ice baths which I quite enjoy now and eating carbs...eugh!!

Pete has been up at 5am to go for morning swims and clocked up a few kms whilst on the bike, on a good day lets just round it up to 80km. His challenge will be to swim 1 mile, bike 40 km followed by a 10km run. Pete has to wear a super tight skinny suit for this event...which has achieved some admiring glances from the girls and boys whilst in the gym pool...Im thinking calander oportunity for 2011? A full 18 months worth?! We'll see!

Pete will be looking for PBs in all 3 events Ill just be looking to do my 13.2 miles in under 2.5 hours and finish in one piece!

The chosen charity here is Great Ormond Street, its 1 of 3 chosen by our team Learning & Development, RBS Insurance. The other 2 being Help for Heroes and Chloes Appeal.

Both Pete & I figured if we knew 100 people who would sponsor us just 1 whole pound that would be our target raised, anything over would be an added bonus.

So please give us your pound (*adopt slight Bob Geldof tone if it works for you) and dont wait for someone else to sponser us!!!

Every penny raised is appreciated and our motivation is helping someone who needs it!

Many thanks in advance

Sarah & Pete xx
