Story
It’s been a long and challenging 6 years since Ruby was born. There have been many ups and downs but the hardest times have come during lengthy hospital stays. Often unplanned, there is very little respite and the days are long, lonely and draining. We all just need a break now and then and Williams Gift was set up to provide a little ray of light in what can be the darkest of times.
Williams Gift was set up in memory of William Fenton who passed away in 2019 aged 6, the age Ruby is now. William had the same diagnosis (total intestinal aganglionosis) as Ruby. He spent a lot of time in hospital & the family wanted to support others going through similar situations. The charity provides care packages for children & their families in hospital. A little box of smiles - for long term admissions - contains gifts to keep the child entertained & cheer them up. A little bag of help - for parents on emergency admissions - contains toiletries and snacks. A little bag of bravery - contains small toys & bravery certificate. They are the bravest of families and we want to support them by “running” the landmark half marathon in London on 2nd April. This is really close to home and ask that if you can, please support Dave, Jane and Sophie to continue to do such great things in memory of William their beautiful son and brother.
